Previous and current research has involved the evaluation of community and school-based initiatives designed to improve P.E. and increase physical activity in young people. Particular interests include P.E. and youth sport policy and the socialisation of teachers.
I am the Head of School of Sport and Exercise Science. The current research that I am involved in is examining the long term impact of a talent programme on the development of young people, particularly in relation to the development of positive psychological skills. In addition to this I am interested in gender differences in Physical Education.
Senior Lecturer in the School of Sport and Exercise Science. I am interested in research which investigates the sport and physical education experiences of people with disabilities. Previous research has examined the impact of a wheelchair sports project upon non-disabled secondary students perceptions of disability.
Senior lecturer. Previous research based on the impacts of a sports policy intervention on everyday cultural practices in golf clubs. Future research interests: Understanding the ways in which sports policy affects school, club and youth based sports from the perspective of the participant and deliverer. I am also interested in golf based quantitative research.
Instructor in Sport (Social Sciences) in the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences. Current research focuses on understanding the transition between elite athletes and elite senior and academy coaches of rugby union and association football. Future research interests centre on examining the professionalisation of youth sports coaching.
